Teens

SDC12629 The Calvary Baptist temple youth group is for teenagers in the 6th to 12th grade. There are many different aspects to the youth group, ranging from Sunday School, and Teen nights (Wednesday Evenings) to a variety of minor and major activities. These activities include Youth Camp in the summer, a major trip to a youth conference somewhere in the country, lake days, and youth rallies just to name a few.

All night laser tag lock-ins, lake days, game night, softball and basketball games are just a few of the other fun activities the youth participate in.

No matter what the activity, there is always a short devotion or message preached.

We believe young people should understand that being a Christian and conducting themselves in an appropriate manner does not have to mean being bored or not having fun. However, we also believe the Word of God is important and should be a part of every organized youth activity.

SDC12941Sunday School: Sundays 9:30 AM
For teenagers in the 7th to 12th grade. All teens are welcome!!!
Sunday school lessons are taught from the Bible and are presented in a way to show  applicability to the lives of the teens today.
From time to time, a series of lessons will be taught, using Church approved material. Currently the teens are being taught from, and discussing the ABC’s of Christian Growth.
The teenagers meet in a separate room from the main auditorium. The room is decorated and set-up specifically for the teens.
Prayer requests are taken weekly to help support our young people with issues they are dealing with in their lives. We believe the answers to life situations and difficulties are in the Bible and make a serious effort to show our teenagers how to apply these Biblical principles to their lives.
Announcements are also made of all upcoming teen and church activities to help keep the teens informed of what’s going on and to help them understand that they are a vital part of our church.

Preaching Service : Sundays 10:45 AM
The teens join the adults in the main service to hear the same message preached from God’s Word.

Teen Night: Wednesdays 7:00 PM
For teenagers in the 7th to 12th grade. All teens are welcome!!! Wednesday evenings include Bible study and game time. There is always time given for a Bible study or short message to be preached.
The remaining time is spent playing a variety of games or for studying for an upcoming youth rally contest.
There is a van that picks teens up and drops them off. Advanced scheduling is required for rides.

Vacation Bible School
Come and join us each night for VBS!
It will be an awesome time for children to learn about God in a fun filled setting.
Games, puppets, lessons and more will invite the children to discover just how great God truly is.
We will have great outdoor games, delicious snacks, fun puppet shows, and of course a wonderful lesson from the Bible.
Each night there will be prizes for everyone and special characters who will visit and challenge the children to serve God.
Ages 4yr through the 8th grade are encouraged to attend. Don’t miss out on the fun and excitement!

Youth Camp:
Youth Camp is always in the summer months and is one week long, usually Sunday evening to the following Saturday afternoon.
Silver State Baptist Youth Camp is located west of Denver about fifteen miles.
The weeks activities include daily preaching and Bible study mixed with a healthy dose of organized outdoor activities and some individual, free time each day.

Youth Rallies:
Youth rallies are held on a monthly basis every month other than the summer months when school is out.
The rallies are held on a rotating basis at different churches (All Independent Baptist churches).
Teenagers meet at CBT and are all taken to the youth rally together in a church van or bus.
Youth rallies involve two competitions between the youth groups of the different churches, sword drills and a Bible quiz.
There is generally a short skit or presentation by the hosting church and then a Bible message is preached.
Often the preaching is done by a Pastor brought in from another church, specifically to preach the rally.
Pastors have come from all over the country to preach youth rallies.
A time of food and fellowship follows each rally.
